About Coonoor Farmstay:

Hi! I'm Stuart McIntyre your host:

I'm a single owner and run the farm by myself, plus do my own shearing, contracting, wood-turning & deer craft work.

I live in a big house, located 36 km from Dannevirke.

Visitors must be able to speak some English, so we can communicate clearly and be able to work in a safe manner about the farm.

The farm is 850 metres above sea level, plus very high rain at times can mean either doing work or no work at all at times.

My farm is 760 acres in size, running 1,000 Drysdale Ewes, 60 Breeding Cows & Calves, Shorthorns and 400 Farmed Red Deer. I also do contracting machinery work for other farmers.

At Coonoor Farmstay, you will get to experience some of the best views in the east coast of the north island, along with some of the best caves and lots of native bush.

For recreation on my farm you can also experience rabbit and possum hunting, done on 4x4 bike and spot lighting. Plus you can go 60 km and experience sea or land fishing, or for something a bit closer to home you can go 10 km for some of the best trout river fishing.
